Knocked-out tooth
- Pick it up by the crown — never the root.
- Rinse gently with milk or water for a few seconds.
- Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in milk.
- Come in within 60 minutes if at all possible.

What to do before you arrive
Severe toothache
- Rinse with warm salt water.
- Floss gently to remove anything trapped.
- Take your usual painkiller as directed.
- Never place aspirin directly on the gum.
Swelling or abscess
- Apply a cold compress to the outside of the cheek.
- Don’t apply heat.
- Call us for a same-day appointment.
- Go to hospital if breathing or swallowing is affected.
Broken or chipped tooth
- Rinse your mouth with warm water.
- Save any pieces in a clean container.
- Cover sharp edges with sugar-free gum or wax.
- Avoid chewing on that side.
If swelling affects your breathing, swallowing or eye, or you have a serious facial injury, go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Yes. You do not need to be an existing patient to be seen for an emergency.
Call the emergency line. If it is life-threatening — difficulty breathing or swallowing — go to the nearest hospital.
An emergency examination with X-ray is from ₹1,000. Any treatment is explained and priced before we begin.
Go straight to hospital if swelling affects your breathing, swallowing or eye, if you have a high fever, or after a serious facial injury.
